You should try, first, resetting the SMC (System Management Controller). First, shut down your MacBook and plug in your power adapter. Hold down Shift, Control, Option then press the Power key, while continuing to hold down the other keys. If your AC adapter is illuminated orange, you will see it change to green momentarily, then back to orange. It is best to do this when the machine isn't fully charged. Then try restarting the computer normally.
Jun 06, 2017 Power troubleshooter will automatically fix some common issues with Power Plans. Run the Power troubleshooter to adjust your computer's power settings. The Power troubleshooter checks things like your computer's timeout settings, which determine how long the computer waits before turning off the monitor display or entering sleep mode.
I would also try resetting your NV/PRAM. To do this, hold the Cmd + Option + P + R keys and then power on the machine. It will begin to start then restart. You should hear the machine chime twice. Once it chimes twice, release the keys and allow it to boot. For more info, see: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204063
